More than just a business directory
We designed and developed a business directory to help members of communities connect via their professions. The aim is to help grow and build a stronger community through local trade and skill sharing. We also made it a priority to showcase essential professions first. The idea is that these essential professionals can become a point of contacts and help guide the community going forward.

A business directory for Concord SDA Church
The first community we built a business directory for is the Concord Seventh Day Adventist Church. It serves as a way to connect those members who are offering services to other members who are looking for services.
It's also a quick way to share the services professionals in the local community are offering to people outside of the community.

Taking back time through local trade and sharing
This business directory also aims to help members become more financially stable so that they can spend more time with each other. This can be achieved through local trading (increasing members' income) or members being more self sufficient due to skills being shared with each other (reducing members' expenses)
Essential professionals to guide the community
It's key to capture the essential professionals as a priority so that they can guide the community to become strong. Essential professions include Doctors, Plumbers, Carpenters, Builders, Electricians, Mechanics, Farmers.
We created a dedicated section as a call out for missing essential professions as well as dedicated pages for each profession where we try to capture the essence of that profession.

Basic community expectations
The business directory captures essential professionals who will be the point of contact for the community to ask questions. The professional will guide the community from their professions's perspective and point them in the right direction, not necessarily providing free consultations.
Each key professional can also hold workshops to help the community become as self sufficient as possible in regards to the essential profession (e.g. carpentry workshops to build simple outdoor furniture).

Future plans
At the time of writing this, we've only released an MVP version for this business directory. The next version will include some more chosen professionals and ideas such as:
- Share functionality (members can share professionals with others and notifications will be sent to all parties involved)
- Dedicated profile page for each professional
- Sections for upcoming workshops held by professionals
- Managing of other communities
